There is a growing collection of funeral poems. A eulogy poem is a special form of prose written to offer comfort to the bereaved.
These three words are enough to convey to the grieving person that you understand the importance of the deceased person in his life and that you share his sadness. I didn't manage to write my own poem but what I did find were some very fitting poems for funeral tributes in a book that I found after a long search through the internet. A eulogy is designed to memorialize and celebrate the good things in the person's life.
Where did you loved one like to go on a Saturday afternoons, the beach, the tennis club, the golf course, fishing by a stream or to football games. A gentle, sincere hug or a shoulder to cry on is what a bereaved person needs to feel to know that he is not alone in his grief. Many families and friends choose to write their own poems or essays about the deceased to have read at memorial services or posted on online memorial sites.
