A eulogy is a well-crafted speech, which a person is designated to prepare and deliver during a funeral ceremony. Something they know would make the deceased proud to hear of.
The eulogy should convey your feelings and your experiences and should be written in an informal, conversational tone. Eulogies may be written in various ways. In the event of the deceased having led a life that was terribly hard for them, or they were ill towards the end of their life, leave that part out.
Take your time, take several deep breaths before you start reading. We leave the dark and dim home of our mother's womb to discover a new home in a brighter, wider world. People who read the obituary should feel a sense of loss or should feel they ought to have known the deceased.
Ultimately, the most important thing is to reflect the unique personality of the deceased. Giving a eulogy is an honor.
